Jack Dorsey included “Bitcoin” in his Twitter bio
Twitter co-founder and former chief executive Jack Dorsey has altered his Twitter bio section to simply one word, which is “Bitcoin.”
Dorsey is known to be a huge Bitcoin supporter and even more so a BTC evangelist, who routinely criticises competing cryptos, like Ethereum and DOGE, on Twitter.
He has multiple times publicly referred to Vitalik Buterin’s currency as a “single point of failure,” arguing that it is centralised and VC-owned, exactly as Web3.
In a few recent tweets, Dorsey has again bashed Ethereum, while having a small dispute with the CEO of FTX exchange, Sam Bankman-Fried. The latter had indicated in the media that he does not feel that Bitcoin has a solid future as a method of payment. His conversation with Dorsey revolved around Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, which facilitates rapid and inexpensive micro Bitcoin transfers.
As Dorsey pointed out, he isn’t paying attention to the present decline in Bitcoin’s price (and presumably doesn’t), since he is certain that BTC will spike once again in the long run.
This is due to the fact that an increasing number of individuals are now using the most popular cryptocurrency.
When news broke that Block (formerly known as Square) and Blockstream were teaming up to mine Bitcoin in Texas using equipment donated by Elon Musk’s Tesla at the beginning of April, it was widely covered in the mainstream media.
Elon Musk also temporarily added “Bitcoin” to his Twitter profile section last year, when Tesla began taking Bitcoin and eventually acquired a substantial part.
Perhaps the fact of Dorsey doing so suggests that Jack is about to launch some big new ventures relating to the global flagship cryptocurrency. In fact, this isn’t the first time he’s included Bitcoin in his Twitter bio.
