Solana Network remains operational despite the down status of the Foundation’s public RPCs
Due to a problem, the Solana Foundation RPC endpoints are presently down. Despite the setback, the blockchain network has continued to operate properly.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) endpoints managed by the Solana Foundation are unavailable due to a defect in the Validator client’s test version 1.14.
According to Solana Status, the problem affected nodes that had accepted the most recent test version. It recommended people use the node upgrade to version 1.13.
RPC endpoints are the nodes that link blockchain-based decentralized apps and wallets. However, the event had no effect on the network, and regular block production has continued. This is because private RPCs from companies such as QuickNode, Alchemy, and Triton are still usable.
Austin Federa, the head of strategy and communications at the Solana Organization, said that the flaw only affected nodes managed by the foundation. According to him, private suppliers act in a way.
In the meantime, this is a positive development given the history of the network. In the last year, Solana suffered 14 outages for a total of 4 days, 12 hours, and 21 minutes. The recent network outage, which occurred in October 2022, was caused by a node fault. These outages generated questions about the community’s survival among its residents.
Meanwhile, the layer1 blockchain, which had a dismal 2022, has begun 2023 in excellent shape. As of January 5, Solana co-founder Raj Gokal tweeted, using Artemis statistics, that the network’s daily addresses surpassed those of big competitors like as Ethereum, Polygon, etc.
The value of its native token, SOL, has also increased by 37% in the previous week, trading at $13.65 at press time. The network’s strong price performance is a great development given that it traded for as little as $8 in the last weeks of 2022. The digital asset is now the fourteenth biggest digital asset by market capitalization.
In addition, the Solana community seems to have gathered behind a new memecoin that has swept the network. In the first week of 2023, the value of the Bonk Inu token increased by more than 1,000%, attracting greater network activity.
