Ms. Pei announced on her Twitter account that she is leaving Facebook to join the Coinbase team. She will focus her efforts on Coinbase’s decentralized finance services. Ms. Pei expresses her excitement about her new position and adds that Coinbase’s Defi team continues its hiring effort.
Shalin Pei previously worked at Facebook as a product design manager in charge of the FB Social News and FB Local News projects. Ms. Pei, according to her website, has spoken at the Interaction and UX London conferences and is a seasoned diversity and inclusion campaigner.
Coinbase gradually increases its bet on Defi.
Coinbase has been actively pushing into the volatile field of decentralized finance in recent months (Defi). As previously reported by U.Today, it has integrated one of the fastest-growing Defi networks, Polygon (formerly Matic), into its wallet.
In addition, Coinbase is looking for an engineer who will be in charge of integrating with popular Ethereum (ETH) scaling solutions such as Arbitrum, Optimism, and Starkware.
Following the precipitous decline in cryptocurrency prices and the SEC warning, Coinbase’s COIN has lost 11.4 percent on NASDAQ in the last seven days; its price is estimated to be $248 at press time.
