Security Firm Alerts Solana Ecosystem to Phishing Attack Alert
Crypto security firm Scam Sniffer made the shocking statement last month that Solana wallets had over $4 million of funds stolen.
Phishing attacks on Solana, in contrast to those on Ethereum, often include direct transfers via the use of vulnerabilities in transaction simulation technology.
In a recent turn of events, an adversary known as Node Drainer surfaced in the course of a Christmas phishing effort. Node Drainer has expanded the number of people it has victimized, and in a span of less than two weeks, it has stolen more than two million dollars. Scam Sniffer was able to identify and trace fake wallets for Solana. The total amount of money that they have taken from 2,189 victims is about $2.14 million.
It has been claimed that an address connected to Node Drainer generated more than one million dollars in profit by converting stolen USDC into ETH via the use of AllBridge services.
ANALOS, Bonk, SILLY, MOBILE, and other assets belonging to the Solana ecosystem are among the most prominent examples of stolen assets, as said in the statement that was issued by ScamSniffer.
The majority of phishing signatures on Solana involve directly starting transfers, in contrast to the majority of thefts that occur on Ethereum, which are often caused by malicious confirmation problems.
