FTX Exec Requests Medical Treatment Delay in Prison

Due to the fact that he requires medical treatment as a result of a serious dog bite, Ryan Salame, who was once the co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, has decided to seek a 45-day extension on his jail reporting date.

According to a report by Cointelegraph, Salame’s legal team submitted a plea to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on July 26. The appeal requested that the date of his surrender be moved from August 29 to October 13.

They said that he required immediate medical attention after being bitten in the face by a German Shepherd on June 29 when he was visiting a friend’s home. They highlighted the urgency of the surgery.

It was on social media that Salame expressed his worries over the possible bias of his physician. Salame had already entered a guilty plea to charges of conspiracy and campaign finance crimes. Furthermore, he continued to participate in the Bitcoin 2024 conference despite the injuries he sustained.

Among the colleagues of Sam Bankman-Fried, Salame is one of the first to get a sentence. Additionally, Bankman-Fried is challenging his conviction, which resulted in his receiving a sentence of 25 years.

In the latter part of this year, several former executives of FTX, such as Gary Wang and Nishad Singh, are scheduled to be issued sentences.
