Cardano launches Daedalus 6.0.0 in anticipation of the Chang hard fork

Cardano has released Daedalus 6.0.0, a critical update that is essential for the transition to the Conway era, in advance of the Chang hard fork.

The platform has announced the release of a substantial update for its Daedalus wallet, just prior to the highly anticipated Chang hard fork, at a critical juncture in the evolution of the Cardano ecosystem. The platform is prepared for one of the most transformative enhancements on the network with the release of Daedalus 6.0.0, which is essential for the transition to the Conway era.

The Daedalus 6.0.0 update includes Cardano wallet v2024-07-27 and node version 9.1.0. Furthermore, the auto-update feature on Linux systems with AppArmor has been resolved, and the Ledger and Trezor hardware wallet libraries have been updated. This repair is especially crucial for guaranteeing that Daedalus functions seamlessly across a variety of systems and configurations.

In order to proceed with the forthcoming Chang hard fork and function properly, all Daedalus users are required to upgrade to version 6.0.0. The wallet’s newsfeed will notify existing users to update. It is advisable to obtain the latest version of the wallet exclusively from the official website in order to prevent frauds for those who have not yet downloaded it.

The release of version 6.0.0 spotlights Cardano‘s progress toward the Chang hard fork, which is swiftly approaching. Intersect, an organization that is a component of the ADA ecosystem, has reported that 80% of Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) have already implemented node version 9.1.0, thereby achieving the requisite threshold for the hard fork.

Furthermore, twelve exchanges have verified their preparedness for the hard fork, while nineteen are still in the process of preparing, including prominent platforms such as Binance and Crypto.com. The initial dApp has also verified its compatibility with the Chang hard fork.

Users must be aware that Daedalus is a desktop-only full-node wallet. The theft of seed phrases and ADA is a potential objective of any mobile iteration of Daedalus.
