BitPay can accept BNB, Chainlink, and other payments for products and bills
Customers may now pay for products and services with Uniswap and Chainlink tokens, thanks to BitPay.
BitPay has expanded its support for “dozens” more cryptocurrencies, including Uniswap, Chainlink, BNB, and many more. The firm was initially founded to process bitcoin payments.
The business said that BitPay users may now use their cryptocurrency to pay for things like cars and mortgages, as well as shop at stores like Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and AMC Theatres. The company will add additional payment support for Basic Attention Token and Cronos, among “dozens more.”
Even though BitPay has been operating for a while, the addition of support for hundreds of other cryptocurrencies is part of a larger trend among web3 firms that are aiming to simplify the usage of tokens other than bitcoin. Strike enabled USDT compatibility for Tether’s stablecoin last year.
BitPay’s support for cryptocurrency has been expanding gradually. Bitcoin accounted for 90% of the payments made by BitPay in 2020. Founders Fund, Virgin Group, Index Ventures, and Aquiline Technology Growth are among the investors that have contributed over $70 million to the Atlanta-based business since its 2011 inception.
