The University of Edinburgh Receives a “Massive” Investment from Cardano Builder
According to City A.M., Input Output, a software development business that specializes in assisting the Cardano blockchain has invested $4.5 million in the University of Edinburgh.
The generous investment will contribute to the development of a blockchain centre, a collaborative effort between the university and Input Output. Students and researchers will be eligible for funding to develop blockchain-based initiatives.
The allocation of funding will be determined by a steering group comprised of members from both Input Output and the University of Edinburgh.
On Friday, Tim Harrison, vice president of community at Input Output, anticipates further announcements from Edinburgh.
In February 2017, Input-Output and the University of Edinburgh developed a blockchain technology laboratory. Undergraduates through doctoral students may cooperate on a variety of projects including blockchain, crypto, economics, and computer science.
Charles Hoskinson, a creator of Cardano, said in a statement that the purpose of the current investment is to accelerate the development of blockchain technology.
In August, Input Output also announced a $4.5 million investment in a new research centre at Stanford University. Over the course of the next two years, it will be able to support blockchain-related enterprises. The developer of Cardano has also pledged to sponsor educational facilities in Tokyo, Japan.
