Visa and CryptoCom Will Launch a New NFT Collection Prior to the FIFA World Cup

This comes just a few months after the renowned cryptocurrency exchange said it will sponsor the 2017 FIFA World Cup.

Visa, a leading global payment processor, has introduced a new non-fungible token (NFTs) solution called “Visa Masters of Movement” to engage football fans during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Since 2007, FIFA has partnered with Visa for payments. The payments giant referred to its new offering as a “first-of-its-kind” hybrid experience that includes a pre-event NFT auction and immersive engagement for football fans during the FIFA.

Visa senior vice president Andrea Fairchild stated in a press statement obtained by CryptoPotato, “As FIFA Globe Cup 2022TM approaches, we want to celebrate football, art, and technology through the lens of what makes the FIFA World CupTM so great — passionately enthusiastic fans, renowned players, and, for a few short weeks, the opportunity to bring the world together in a uniquely linked manner.”

The Visa Masters of Movement contains selected FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup digital artworks, avatars, and other memorabilia.

The NFTs are inspired by the legendary goals made by five prominent football players: Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez.

The digital artworks are accessible through CryptoCom, the crypto trading partner platform of Visa. Fans interested in participating in the auction may begin placing bids now until November 8. The collection will make its formal premiere during the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha, Qatar from November 19 to December 18 later this month.
