Trump names RFK Jr. to transition team after fresh indictment
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an ex-Democrat who is pro-crypto, has joined Donald Trump’s team. This move will aid in the formation of a government in the event that Trump wins the presidential election in November.
In light of his federal re-indictment, which alleges that he attempted to unlawfully overturn the 2020 presidential election results, former United States President Donald Trump has appointed independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to his transition team.
Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin were central campaign issues for Kennedy, who initiated his presidential campaign in pursuit of the Democratic Party nomination. Before suspending his campaign on Friday, Aug. 23, and endorsing Trump, he quit the Democratic Party and ran as an independent.
Trump’s team also included Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic representative and 2020 presidential candidate who was a crypto holder at one time.
Brian Hughes, senior adviser to the Trump campaign, stated to Reuters on August 27 that the Trump/Vance Transition team is proud to have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard as members, as President Trump’s coalition of supporters and endorsers continues to broaden across partisan lines.
In an interview with former Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson on August 26, Kennedy disclosed that he had been recruited to join Trump’s team and that he would “assist in the selection of the individuals who will be in charge of the government” in the event that Trump wins the November elections.
Trump, the Republican Party’s nominee, is currently trailing Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris by 3.4% in national polls, according to data from FiveThirtyEight as of August 27.
In the interim, Trump is currently the subject of a new federal indictment from a grand jury in Washington, D.C., which alleges that he unlawfully attempted to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump insinuated in a post on his Truth Social platform that US Special Counsel Jack Smith “rewrote the exact identical case in an attempt to bypass the Supreme Court Decision.”
He had entered a plea of not guilty to the initial indictment and stated in his post that “the entire case should be dismissed on the basis of Presidential Immunity.”
