The Department of Justice Is Recruiting for the position of Director of the Crypto Enforcement Team

In order to lead the new National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team, the DOJ is looking for a director (NCET).

For a position at the Department of Justice (DOJ), applicants must have a minimum of five years of legal experience after their J.D. (Juris Doctor) as well as strong knowledge of blockchain and cryptography.

Successive hires will lead a team of prosecutors that will investigate and prosecute cryptocurrency-related crimes. The director of NCET will also be in charge of prioritizing investigations and overseeing DOJ efforts to prevent criminals’ exploitation of crypto assets.

The NCET was established by the DOJ earlier this month in response to the vast spectrum of crimes that the department believes are being committed using digital assets.

For this reason, the NCET will promote the development of expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies across all aspects of criminal activity, from the primary demand mechanism for ransomware payments to money laundering and the operation of illegal or unregistered money services businesses.
