Starbucks Launches Beta Testing of New NFT Rewards Program Powered by Polygon

Starbucks is introducing the beta edition of a new loyalty program that enables users can earn and purchase non-fungible tokens (NFTs) created on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain.

The world’s biggest coffeehouse chain said in a recent statement that it is rolling out Starbucks Odyssey, a loyalty program for customers, workers, and partners of the company in the United States who signed up to be on the program’s waitlist.

Journeys are a series of interactive activities available to members. Upon completion, they get ‘Journey Stamp’ non-fungible tokens (NFTs) produced on MATIC and Odyssey points, which open further perks and experiences.

The Starbucks Odyssey adventure has started with the beta launch, and we are thrilled to work with our members and partners, who will help define the Odyssey experience as we travel together.”

The Seattle-based business says it delivered the first round of invites this month and will continue sending invitations to a larger number of individuals beginning in January 2023.

Starbucks said in September that it would collaborate with Polygon to establish a blockchain-based rewards program. At the time of writing, MATIC is trading for $0.93, an increase of 4.09% over the last twenty-four hours.
