On Dec. 16, Binance will host an auction of 100 “intelligent NFTs” in conjunction with Sophia’s journey into the Metaverse.
Sophia, the world’s most renowned humanoid artificial intelligence (AI) robot, is planned to be tokenized and auctioned off as part of an upcoming Metaverse initiative named “Noah’s Ark.”
Sophia was created in 2016 by Hong Kong-based Hansen Robotics and is renowned worldwide for her conversational abilities and clear speaking ability. Sophia has addressed the United Nations and gained Saudi citizenship in her first five years.
Earlier this month, former Hansen Robotics CEO and Sophia co-creator Jeanne Lim debuted a virtual anime version of the robot branded “Sophia beingAI” under a perpetual licencing and co-branding arrangement with her new firm beingAI.
According to the Dec. 7 statement, beingAI has teamed with Alethea AI, a startup that produces intelligent nonfungible tokens (iNFTs), to issue 100 iNFTs incorporating Sophia beingAI on Binance’s NFT marketplace on Dec. 16 as part of an Intelligent IGO (Initial Game Offering).
The auction will run for five days, with twenty iNFTs being issued daily until Dec. 21. The term “iNFT” refers to revolutionary NFTs that include intelligence in the form of an artificial intelligence personality that adds programmability to their immutable smart contracts. These intelligent NFTs are capable of autonomously interacting with humans in a gamified environment in real time.
The collection is titled “The Transmedia Universe of Sophia beingAI,” and as part of the agreement, Alethea AI’s decentralised Metaverse project Noah’s Ark will host the 100 iNFTs.
Pat Lee, a comic book artist who formerly worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics on properties such as Batman, Superman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man, will illustrate the collection.
Alethea AI debuted Noah’s Ark in October and plans to populate its Metaverse with “interactive and intelligent NFTs.” Lim said the following:
“We think Sophia beingAI will bring humanity and technology together in order to assist people in discovering our real nature of unconditional love and limitless possibility.”
Sophia is not new to the NFT space. According to Cointelegraph, Sophia performed an NFT auction in March using the Nifty Gateway platform.
Sophia displayed her ability to express emotion during a renowned speech at the 2017 Future Investment Initiative Conference by creating happy, sad, and furious looks. Sophia revealed in 2019 that she was aware of cryptocurrencies but did not possess any.
