Shop.com now accepts Bitcoin payments

The e-commerce platform Shop.com accepts Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, and numerous major dollar-pegged stablecoins.

Shop.com, an e-commerce platform based in the United States, is the latest site to accept cryptocurrency payments. Market America’s subsidiary announced a relationship with cryptocurrency payment service provider BitPay that will enable it to accept payments in a variety of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC).

The new agreement enables Shop.com customers to pay with their crypto wallets throughout the checkout process. At the moment, customers can pay with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Litecoin (LTC), in addition to five USD-pegged stablecoins.

Shop.com president and COO Steve Ashley described the cooperation as the “next chapter in business.” The BitPay integration is available in all countries where Market America operates, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia.

BitPay is utilized as a payment gateway for cryptocurrency transactions by businesses that typically deal in fiat currencies. Businesses such as the Las Vegas Auto Gallery and The Kessler Collection of American luxury hotels have partnered with BitPay to accept Bitcoin payments.

According to a recent study conducted by the crypto payments provider, both crypto owners and non-owners express a strong interest in crypto payments.

According to Cointelegraph, up to 93 percent of responding crypto users said that they would consider making future purchases in crypto, while 59 percent of customers who have never held crypto expressed interest in doing so.
