The ChatGPT large language model (LLM) allegedly initiated a conversation by asking a Reddit user with the screen name “SentuBill” how his first day of school was going in a post on Sept. 15.
From the user’s interaction with the program, ChatGPT was able to deduce that it was the user’s first day of school. The large language model also suggested that the capabilities were part of a recent enhancement.
The official ChatGPT conversation transcript on the LLM platform was viewed by Cointelegraph to confirm the authenticity of the conversation posted by the astonished user.
On September 13, OpenAI introduced a preview version of the more sophisticated, eagerly anticipated models to a limited number of users. According to OpenAI, these new models will possess the capacity to reason, which will grant ChatGPT the seemingly magical ability to “consider before it answers.”
According to reports, the new model will be capable of autonomously conducting extensive research and scouring the internet, with response periods ranging from 10 to 20 seconds. These capabilities have the potential to elevate ChatGPT from an intriguing novelty to an essential tool with practical applications.
Initially, Strawberry was due for release in November 2024, according to OpenAI. Nevertheless, sources suggest that the ChatGPT upgrade may undergo an earlier launch than anticipated.
The artificial intelligence firm also changed its naming conventions for models, stating that the new models marked such a paradigm shift from earlier versions that they chose to change the dial back to one on the new LLM.
Since April, OpenAI’s diverse products have experienced a significant increase in prominence, amassing more than one million consumers. In April 2024, the company’s products, which included ChatGPT premium subscriptions and access to its ChatGPT Enterprise, had an estimated 600,000 subscribers.
The ChatGPT manufacturer is also contemplating a substantial price increase for certain impending models. The company may introduce high-end subscription plans that could cost as much as $2,000 per month.
