MicroStrategy Increases Bitcoin Purchases Bringing Treasury Value to Over $4.5B

MicroStrategy has 152,333 Bitcoins, making it the highest business Bitcoin holder.

MicroStrategy, a provider of business analytics solutions, revealed the acquisition of more than 12,000 Bitcoins on June 28. Since its latest acquisition, MicroStrategy has increased its Bitcoin holdings from 152,333 to 152,333, bringing the total value of its Bitcoin Treasury to over $4.5 billion.

According to the statement, the company’s average Bitcoin holding price is $29,658. As of this writing, MicroStrategy, a provider of corporate analytics, mobile applications, and cloud-based services, has more Bitcoins than any publicly listed firm.

Since August 2020, when MicroStrategy first began purchasing Bitcoins, CEO Michael Saylor has been the cryptocurrency’s most vocal proponent. MicroStrategy maintained its diamond-like grip on its stocks during the crypto winter 2022. On Wednesday, Saylor made the following statement on Twitter:

“With an average price of $28,136 per #bitcoin, MicroStrategy has purchased an additional 12,333 BTC for $347,000,000. For $4.52 billion, or an average of $29,668 per bitcoin, @MicroStrategy now holds 152,333 $BTC as of 6/27/23.”

When Saylor made his first Bitcoin investment, the price was about $12. Since then, he has made infrequent purchases across the board.

Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy’s CEO, said that the business would not sell its Bitcoin holdings. “The key for us is to be consistent, transparent, and responsible in pursuing that strategy,” he added.

MSTR stock has soared 125% since the beginning of the year as a direct consequence of the company’s decision to maintain its Bitcoin holdings.

The price of Bitcoin, purchased yesterday, has not changed much since then, remaining stable at about $30,000. In addition to its Bitcoin acquisitions, MicroStrategy is developing an “enterprise Lightning solution,” as stated by Saylor.
