Major Airlines Now Accepting Crypto Through the UATP
The Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) is offering bitcoin payment alternatives to over 300 airline members and travel businesses. Air Canada, Air China, Delta, Frontier, Japan Airlines, Jetblue, Qantas, Southwest, and United are among the airlines that operate on the UATP network.
UATP is an airline-owned global payment network that accepts payments for air, rail, hotel, and travel agency services from thousands of businesses worldwide.
UATP stated Wednesday that it has joined with Bitpay “to enable its network to accept payments in bitcoin, dogecoin, ethereum, litecoin, and six other prominent travel-related cryptocurrencies.” Friday, Bitpay tweeted:

At the moment, UATP’s members include Aeromexico, Airplus International (British Airways and Lufthansa), APG Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, Air Niugini, American Airlines, APG Airlines, Austrian Airlines, BCD Travel, China Eastern Airlines, Delta Air Lines, EL AL Israel Airlines, Etihad Airways, Fareportal, Frontier Airlines, GOL Linhas Aereas inteligentes S.A., Hahn

Additionally, UATP’s extensive network of airlines can now access millions of new global clients who choose to pay with cryptocurrency regardless of the wallet they use, as Bitpay supports all crypto wallets. “The UATP – Bitpay alliance brings together the ideal combination of two experts in airline and cryptocurrency payments,” said UATP CEO Ralph Kaiser.
