Ethereum will eventually overtake Bitcoin according to the co-founder of Polygon.

According to Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, Ethereum will eventually supplant Bitcoin as the primary layer-1 protocol.

“Bitcoin will eventually outperform ETH and become the global standard,” Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal stated in an exclusive interview.

According to Nailwal, Ethereum will eventually become the “ultimate settlement layer” for the Defi space. Polygon’s scaling solution will be critical in assuring Ethereum’s long-term viability. Despite increased competition from layer-1 protocols such as Solana, Nailwal believes it is still premature to discuss an “Ethereum killer.”

“The Ethereum chain is just beyond the grasp of any other chain because of its principles, security, degree of decentralization, and the community and trust that it has built as a chain over time,” he asserted.

According to the co-founder of Polygon, Etheruem will eventually outperform Bitcoin in terms of use cases. Nailwal believes that unless Bitcoin expands its utility outside the monetary system function, it would likely fail to exist as a layer-1 protocol in the long run. “It may take ten years, but I do not envision a world with numerous layer-1 protocols.”

Mark Cuban, a billionaire investor, has already explained why he believes Ethereum (ETH) would eventually exceed the flagship digital currency Bitcoin. According to Cuban, ETH will undoubtedly surpass BTC in the future, not now. Additionally, Cuban admitted that he had more ETH than BTC. Meanwhile, Cuban previously expressed doubts about the long-term viability of cryptocurrency in past.
