Ethereum co-founders leave crypto space over security issues
Ethereum co-founder, Anthony De Iorio, announced his intention to exit the crypto space for his personal safety and will no longer work in crypto projects.
According to a report on July 17, from Bloomberg, De Iorio is considering selling his digital asset firm to a vendor and is currently breaking ties with all the crypto projects, in which he is involved in and stated:
“It’s got a risk profile that I am not too enthused about. I don’t feel necessarily safe in this space. If I was focused on larger problems, I think I’d be safer”
Di Iorio began working on Ethereum in 2014 and also served as a chief digital officer in the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2016. In recent years he focused on venture capital investing and startup advising.
In 2016, the 48-year-Canadian entrepreneur started blockchain company Decentral, which runs on Jaxx Liberty.
In 2017, Forbes figured out his total wealth at 1 billion and put De Iorio on the list of crypto-rich for that year. That same year. De Iorio was come again into public attention, after buying the largest condo in Canada, worth $22 million, using crypto as the payment method.
De Iorio wants to sell Decentland for “hundreds of millions”, indicating that it will only accept cash or equity from another company for settlement.
Lorio has joined Project Arrow, which plans to build Canada’s first zero-emission vehicle – with entrepreneurs saying that crypto can only help to solve a few of the world’s problems:
“I want to diversify to not being a crypto guy, but being a guy tackling complex problems. I will incorporate crypto when needed, but a lot of times, it’s not … It’s a small percentage of what the world needs”
Out of Ethereum’s eight co-founders, simply Vitalik Buterin is actively working on the blockchain platform. Some of them started the competitive blockchain i.e. Charles Hoskinson started Cardano and Gavin Wood with Polkadot.
