Elon Musk teases the possibility of Starlink accepting Dogecoin

Elon Musk, the entrepreneur, has suggested that satellite internet provider Starlink may begin accepting Dogecoin, the biggest meme currency.

To such a request from the community, the quirky entrepreneur reacted with the winking face emoji. Starlink’s goal is to provide high-speed broadband internet to subscribers in the most distant parts of the world. After numerous of launches, the business presently has over 2,000 operational satellites. The service is $99 per month in addition to the $499 for the hardware package.

Musk’s SpaceX may also be able to accept Dogecoin payments. According to U.Today, the space exploration corporation has already approved DOGE for a lunar mission known as DOGE-1, which is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2022.

According to U.Today, e-car maker Tesla has begun accepting Dogecoin for the purchase of certain of its items, causing the cryptocurrency’s price to skyrocket. Musk first revealed the proposal in December.

Tesla authorised Bitcoin payments in March, but then suspended them 49 days later owing to environmental concerns.

Musk reportedly encouraged McDonald’s to take Dogecoin in late January, but the fast-food behemoth allegedly laughed the proposal off.

Meanwhile, according to CoinMarketCap statistics, Dogecoin has returned to the top ten largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

The meme currency, along with competitor Shiba Inu, has been somewhat in the green during the last 24 hours. Polkadot (DOT) and Avalanche (AVAX) are among the worst performers, falling by more than 5%.
