Elon Musk says Dogecoin’s increasing nodes will help to lower transaction fees

Elon Musk believes that Dogecoin’s additional nodes and expansion now are critical to the meme cryptocurrency’s software security and growth.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is a fan of Dogecoin and the asset’s most vocal backer. He took to Twitter to support a plea from a Dogecoin-related Twitter account to distribute the latest Doge upgrade to as many machines as possible.

According to the Twitter user “Doge Whisperer,” the current administrators of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency are running a total of 205 machines to oversee the coin’s transactions.

The meme cryptocurrency demonstrates that it is still expanding, and no amount of skepticism or unbelief will bring it down, since it demonstrates a sizable community that supports its growth. The current update’s fact sheet focuses largely on the importance of additional nodes for a better trading experience.

The administrators would wait for a bigger percentage of these new nodes to be deployed and utilized by miners before releasing a new update. Additionally, Dogecoin admins state that these nodes can be installed on obsolete laptops and may contribute to the cryptocurrency’s growth.

The new Doge upgrade lays the groundwork for fee reductions in the future.

According to the GitHub blog post, the new release fixes numerous flaws and improves the network’s performance in a variety of ways. Dogecoin developers are now urging all users to do this upgrade, which will significantly improve the network’s performance.

The upgrade can be applied over the existing 1.14 installation without uninstalling, reindexing, or redownloading. The update is prepping the network for the possibility of fee reductions. It is the first part of a two-stage upgrade necessary to decrease Dogecoin costs.

Musk’s response to the tweet also reminds the Doge community that the network requires additional nodes to help protect it and contribute to fee reductions. Earlier last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted that he was working with Doge engineers to increase the coin’s transaction efficiency.
