Drake shares a Bitcoin video featuring Michael Saylor with his 146 million Instagram followers
During an interview with CNBC on Monday, Michael Saylor said that bitcoin will surpass gold. Grammy-winning Drake shared a video of Michael Saylor discussing bitcoin on Tuesday via Instagram.
The rapper has a history of involvement with digital assets, having been an ambassador for the crypto-focused website Stake and having gambled on the 2022 Super Bowl using bitcoin.
Drake, a Canadian musician, reached more than 146 million people on Instagram on Tuesday after he posted a clip of Michael Saylor’s interview with CNBC.
In a recent post, Drake—who uses the handle “champagnepapi” on the platform—reshared a video with the description “Michael Saylor on Bitcoin.”
According to Saylor’s Monday interview with CNBC, Bitcoin will “eat” gold since it is a better asset. Drake highlighted bitcoin’s use more as a means of value storage than a medium of exchange in the video he shared.
Larry David’s now-infamous FTX Super Bowl commercial, which he subsequently came to regret, was one of many celebrity endorsements of cryptocurrency that were popular during the previous bull market. The number of famous and influential people trying to sell crypto to the public has been very low this time around. Drake’s tweet may attract retail investors’ attention once again to the digital asset market, since it would be one of the first major endorsements of any kind during the current bull market.
