Donald Trump’s election could potentially result in Ross Ulbricht’s pardon

Donald Trump, the former President, made an important declaration at the Bitcoin Conference 2024 in Nashville. He committed to commute Ross Ulbricht’s sentence if he succeeds in his second term.

He underscored that this matter would be his primary concern from the moment he assumed office. The conference participants responded favorably to Trump’s pledge to release Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, who has been serving a prison sentence since 2013. Ulbricht has previously conveyed his appreciation for Trump’s assistance, with the expectation of a chance at liberation.

David Bailey, the CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, had previously declared that any presidential candidate seeking the support of the crypto community should pledge to secure Ulbricht’s release. Other political figures, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., expressed this sentiment.

In his speech, Trump outlined a bold strategy to position the United States as the premier nation in the field of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

His objectives include the implementation of Operation Chokepoint, the termination of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler within the first 100 days, and the opposition to the introduction of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Additionally, he underscored the significance of safeguarding the rights of individuals to self-custody of digital assets.

In order to establish a Strategic National Bitcoin Reserve, Trump suggested the establishment of a unified Bitcoin depository.
