Dogecoin Co-Founder Identifies Two Factors That Will Aid DOGE

Billy Markus, the co-founder of DOGE, has made two recommendations that will certainly improve Dogecoin and help it bring in new users and supporters.

Billy Markus, a software programmer who co-founded DOGE with Jackson Palmer in 2013, took to Twitter to recommend two changes that, in his opinion, could help Dogecoin become a more commonly used cryptocurrency and maybe attract more users.

“Doge is in desperate need of NFTs and an ETH bridge.”

According to Markus, Dogecoin’s value will increase after the DOGE-ETH bridge is constructed. Second, the most popular meme cryptocurrency requires platforms that trade non-fungible tokens (NFT), such as Opensea, and will take DOGE compatible with Ethereum as payment.

NFTs are currently in high demand in the crypto world, with crypto being used to purchase them, Markus tweeted, adding that utilizing DOGE to purchase NFTs will transform it into a currency with high usefulness.

As previously reported on Sept. 2, a co-founder of the second-largest blockchain platform, Ethereum, tweeted that he hoped Dogecoin would adopt the proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm—possibly utilizing the Ethereum code. He argues, however, that Doge should continue to issue five billion coins annually via proof of work (PoW).

That was Vitalik’s reaction to a question from Zhu Su, founder of The Three Arrows Capital, who asked him to propose ways for Ethereum and Doge to interact in the near future.

Apart from that, Buterin stated that Dogecoin’s co-founders may channel the currency’s huge output of DOGE into a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that “funds global public goods.”

Buterin stressed that this step would be consistent with Dogecoin’s “non-greedy, wholesome ethos.” Vitalik Buterin has joined Dogecoin’s advisory board, as previously reported. Following the incident, his father, Dmitry Buterin, commented that Vitalik’s presence on the board may help DOGE become a better coin.
