Crypto exchange Coinbase has disclosed that it has executed a sponsorship agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers, a National Basketball Association (NBA) team. The LA Clippers’ logo and image will become a common sight at their home contests, according to the exchange’s statement. In addition to its branding at the new $2 billion Intuit Dome arena, the exchange will leverage the partnership to encourage audience engagement.

The new partnership will offer financial incentives and will also allow both parties to offer supporters exclusive experiences and limited-edition merchandise. Additionally, the partnership will furnish physical and digital collectibles on the days of home games. Nevertheless, the agreement’s financial specifics were not disclosed.

According to a spokesperson for Coinbase, the exchange will capitalize on the partnership to inform Clippers supporters about blockchain technology and digital assets. The statement disclosed that the exchange aims to conduct itself in a manner that is both enjoyable and educational. The spokesperson further stated, “The objective is to establish a secure and enjoyable environment for followers to investigate the transformative potential of these technologies and encourage their widespread adoption.”

Coinbase announced in its statement that it would provide the Clippers’ fan base with $5 in Bitcoin. Additionally, certain individuals will be eligible to receive season-long advantages by registering on the platform. The exchange will also have a significant presence at home games in the Intuit Dome arena, which is home to the new basketball court of the LA Clippers.

Having played their home games at the Crypto.com arena over the past few years, the Clippers are no strangers to the crypto sector. The arena is also the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, another Los Angeles-based team, and the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.

Coinbase has a history of showing the power of crypto in conjunction with sporting events and organizations. In addition to its sponsorship of the Los Angeles Clippers, it has sponsorship agreements with the NBA, the WNBA, and the male and female basketball divisions in the United States. Additionally, the Golden State Warriors, another basketball team, entered into a sponsorship agreement with the exchange several months ago.
