Bitcoin Suisse partnering with Worldline firm

A Bitcoin Partnership Enables 85,000 Merchants to Accept Bitcoin and Ethereum Payments.

Bitcoin Suisse, a Zurich-based cryptocurrency financial services company, has partnered with European payments firm Worldline to enable immediate Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) payments for Switzerland’s 85,000 merchants. According to a Worldline press statement, the new service, dubbed WL Crypto Payments, enables retailers to accept BTC and ETH payments at the point of sale and through e-commerce.

Merchants can download the WL Crypto Payments mobile application or integrate a payment plugin onto their websites to let clients pay using their preferred mobile crypto wallet application. According to Worldline, the crypto transactions will be securely converted to Swiss Francs instantly upon payment confirmation, potentially reducing a merchant’s exposure to volatility risks.

According to Dr. Arthur Vayloyan, CEO of Bitcoin Suisse, the agreement will introduce user-friendly cryptocurrency payments to the Swiss market.

“This is a historic milestone for crypto adoption in Switzerland and beyond… This step proves once again that Switzerland is a leader in collaborative innovation and a pioneer in the crypto and blockchain industry.”

Numerous Swiss banks have added crypto trading support this year, with Bordier & Cie SCmA, one of the country’s oldest banks, launching support for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Tezos (XTZ) in February. After six months of testing, BBVA Switzerland also launched Bitcoin trading and custody for its private banking clients in June.
