Biden calls Elon Musk’s Twitter a “spewing ground” for “lies”

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has described Twitter as “an organization that transmits and spews misinformation throughout the globe.”

Bloomberg reported that his statements were made during a fundraiser in Chicago on Friday.  The president’s remarks were made soon after Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the social media behemoth, which is the preferred platform for the bulk of persons and initiatives in the blockchain and cryptocurrency business.

Reportedly, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has already fired the majority of Twitter’s high-ranking executives and board members and is laying off around half of the company’s workers.

Individuals, civil rights organisations, and even the president have raised alarm about the possible absence of content control on a version of Twitter-owned by Musk, a self-proclaimed free speech advocate.

In contrast, a large number of crypto users are ecstatic about Musk’s purchase of the popular platform, since his free-speech position seems to coincide with the crypto ethos of censorship resistance.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, who praised a September study on digital assets issued by the Biden administration, recently said that he would be happy to join Twitter’s board of directors if requested by Musk.
