Apple’s next developer conference has sparked reports about NFT trading cards
From June 6 to 10, Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference 2022 will be streamed live and include some of the industry’s greatest experts and champions.
iOS 15, iPadOS 15, MacOS Monterey, and watchOS 8 are among the four new hardware and software versions that Apple wants to reveal at the next Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 6.
Fanatic sites like MacRumours, which focus on supporting and criticising Apple’s development found that by clicking on the characters, an augmented reality mode is exposed with three trading card characters that may be claimed.
When Apple first started using Memoji characters in its consumer branding strategy a few years ago, the corporation understood the cultural connection between memes and mascot brand promotion. As a collectable, these cards are likely to have no inherent trading value during the WWDC conference.
Because of their aesthetic similarities to RTFKT Studios’ CloneX and Gary Vaynerchuk’s VeeFriends Series 2 animated cards, the Easter egg feature has spurred some conjecture regarding the likelihood of future Apple NFTs.
CEO Tim Cook expressed hope for the widespread adoption of virtual reality and metaverse technologies during Apple’s Q1 2022 earnings call, describing the company’s plans to “invest proportionately” in the field.
Following technical difficulties in development, Apple’s mixed-reality headgear was expected to be introduced during the WWDC conference, but that appears doubtful now.
Trademark registration for RealityOS, which is reportedly the operating system for mixed-reality headsets, was recently registered by the corporation.
