A Crypto-Friendly Team Is Chosen to Represent Indonesia in the Presidential Election
In the course of the presidential campaign, Gibran, a candidate for vice president, brought up the topic of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as a potential method of increasing employment prospects for the younger generation in the nation.
Prabowo Subianto, a former minister of defense, and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, a pro-cryptocurrency candidate, were selected to serve as the next president and vice president of Indonesia, respectively.
The two candidates received about sixty percent of the votes cast in Indonesia, and they will launch their campaigns in October.
It is possible that the victory could result in the continuation of crypto-friendly policies in Indonesia under the leadership of Joko Widodo, the current president of Indonesia and, controversially, Gibran’s father. In an effort to bolster the economy of the region, the administration of Widodo has made an effort to capitalize on the local interest in cryptocurrency. There are more registered cryptocurrency investors in the nation than there are stock traders.
Prabowo said that his team aims to increase the monitoring of tax compliance among stock and cryptocurrency traders when they are campaigning for the election. Gibran said that the two individuals want to encourage the development of young professionals who are knowledgeable in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. In his remarks, he emphasized the dedication of their team to cultivating “future stars with future capabilities.”
Prabowo and Gibran have the ability to maintain the rules that are now in place and maybe pave the way for regulations that are more crypto-friendly.
