The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is continuing its adoption of the metaverse throughout all of its government and business institutions.
Khaleej Times, a Dubai-based online newspaper, said on October 16 that the Ajman Police has become the first police department in the world to provide its services inside the metaverse.
An innovative new service dubbed “Request for Sponsorship” was unveiled by the Ajman Police General Command at Gitex Technology Week to facilitate citizens’ remote communication with the police.
Officers from the Ajman Police General Command were also in attendance at the Dubai Metaverse Forum. According to Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Abu Shehab, the involvement of the force was undertaken in order to enjoy the advantages of metaverse technology in law enforcement.
On the second day of Gitex Global 2022, the Dubai Police General Command announced the launch of a new version of its smart application, which consists of a premium collection of 70 services using the most recent programming languages and artificial intelligence.
Notably, the UAE seeks to adopt new technology to address social issues, and the metaverse provides a means for the police to establish an additional communication channel. In addition, the Dubai Police General Command said that their innovative application now supports seven languages, including Arabic, English, Chinese, Russian, French, German, and Spanish.
Director of artificial intelligence at the Dubai Police, Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, commented on the newest advancement by noting that the enhanced smart gadget contains a personal dashboard that records the user’s personal information and other transactions. In addition, it includes the holder’s history of traffic infractions and crimes, among other details.
Under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates is nearing its potential as a global hub for the metaverse.
