Avalanche suggests that the Otherside metaverse construct its own network
Otherside metaverse should be moved to the Avalanche blockchain, according to a request made by ApeCoin DAO members. At this point, the idea is still in the debate phase, and it is unclear whether it will go through a formal governance vote, much alone if the DAO has power over the metaverse.
When it comes to the future Otherside metaverse from Yuga Labs and the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, they’ll be using an Ethereum token called the ApeCoin DAO as their governing body. Yuga Labs has not yet responded to the proposition in any way.
ApeCoin DAO contributor Yuga Labs complained about Ethereum’s network congestion and soaring gas prices during the mint sale of its Otherside metaverse land NFTs last month. To address scalability requirements, it showed an interest in creating its own blockchain. Avalanche has officially approached the ApeCoin DAO regarding a potential migration as Yuga Labs looks to establish its own blockchain.
As part of their proposal, Avalanche proposed that ApeCoin DAO establish Otherside on an Avalanche subnet in order to promote Otherside’s future community development by providing quicker transaction processing, more throughput, greater scalability, and cheaper gas prices.”
Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer affirmed his team’s interest in attempting to convince ApeCoin DAO of the merits of the proposition. “ApeCoin would be wonderful as an Avalanche subnet, and benefit from the improved performance of its dedicated chain on the quickest consensus protocol,” Sirer said on Twitter when he sent the link to the idea.
With its Layer 1 blockchain, Avalanche claims to be a speedier and less expensive version of Ethereum. In order to run Ethereum programmes, they must be able to run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It is also possible for different apps to create their own blockchains called subnets on top of the main network using Avalanche’s functionality. In addition, blockchains may utilise their own native coins to pay transaction fees on these subnetworks.
A significant portion of today’s pitch involves the subnet component in question. As a metaverse and NFT-centric Avalanche subnet, the Avalanche team advised that ApeCoin DAO explore it for deployments. The DeFi Kingdoms play-to-earn game would be the next huge community to follow suit if this were to occur.
