Twitter’s Tipping Feature Now Includes Ethereum (ETH), a Leading Altcoin
Twitter, the social media giant, has announced an expansion of the crypto assets and payment systems compatible with its new tipping tool.
Twitter has informed its 6,900,000 followers through a new statement that it will now include wallet addresses connected with popular cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH) into its tipping tool.
The social media giant also announced the addition of various new third-party payment systems for tip sending.
“Have you yet set up Tips on your profile so that others may easily offer their support? Yes, that’s great; we’ve included Paga, Flutterwave’s Barter, Paytm, and the possibility to enter your Ethereum address.”
Twitter launched its tipping feature in September, enabling users to instantly send funds, including cash and the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), to any Twitter user worldwide for free via the payments protocol Strike, an app that processes Bitcoin transactions via the Lightning Network.
According to Twitter’s website, users may now transfer Ethereum straight to another user’s ETH wallet. “Through Tips, you’ll be able to copy another person’s Bitcoin or Ethereum address and put it into your wallet.”
CashApp, Patreon, GoFundMe, and Venmo are other popular payment services that are compatible with Twitter’s Tips function.
At the time of writing, Ethereum was trading at $2,981, down 2.9 percent on the day, while Bitcoin was trading at $41,848, down 3.9 percent on the day.
