OKX Introduces Crypto Trading Services in Belgium
OKX has expanded its European presence by partnering with regional payment processor Bancontact to offer free Euro deposits and launch in Belgium.
OKX, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the Seychelles, has recently established operations in Belgium. It offers a variety of cryptocurrency services, such as spot trading and conversion, through its wallet and exchange.
The company on November 28 released a press statement announcing that Belgian consumers can now access over 200 cryptocurrencies, including over 60 crypto-euro trading pairings and Euro deposits and withdrawals.
The expansion in Belgium employs Bancontact, the country’s online payment system, which allows users to make instantaneous and cost-free deposits. SEPA deposits and withdrawals are not subject to any fees.
Erald Ghoos, the general manager of OKX Europe, has stated that the launch in Belgium is a “substantial advancement in our regional expansion, supported by a local team and customized services that are tailored to the unique needs of Belgian clients.”
The introduction in Belgium is part of OKX’s overarching strategy to broaden its presence in Europe. Earlier in 2024, the exchange entered the Netherlands.
It declared its intention to establish a regulatory center in Malta, where it acquired a Class 4 license for virtual financial assets in 2021.
The exchange has announced its intention to provide Belgian consumers with additional tokens as part of its ongoing product expansion. However, the company has not yet disclosed the specifics of this initiative.
