Yuga Labs Announces Airdrop Collaboration with Nina Chanel
Nina Chanel and Yuga Labs have formed a new relationship. Yuga Labs has appointed the artist from New York to the position of artist in residence.
The talented New York-based artist Nina Chanel will be collaborating with Yuga Labs, the makers of the beloved Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) line.
Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs, recently posted about their intentions to offer Chanel’s newest collection to digital art space supporters.
Solano underlined that randomized airdrops would be the first distribution method via which Yuga Labs plans to make Chanel’s work accessible solely to Super Cool World holders. Solano claims that this partnership exemplifies Yuga Labs’ goal of connecting the established art sector with the rapidly expanding Web3 environment.
Solano drew attention to the distinctive features of Chanel’s work, including the graphic, large-scale compositions that she created using vivid, eye-catching color palettes. He said that the fact that she is in the collections of prominent institutions like MoMA and The Whitney was one of the things that struck the team at Yuga Labs. The crew is thrilled to have Chanel as an artist-in-residence at Yuga Labs, and Solano made sure everyone knew it.
In addition, Solano gave an update on Yuga Labs’ acquisition of the CryptoPunks collection earlier this year. They see CryptoPunks as the “early cave paintings” of the digital art movement, and the firm’s goal is to preserve their heritage, according to Solano. Part of this plan is to team up with existing cultural organizations to collect digital artworks and then share that knowledge with the public.
Yuga Labs is essentially pulling the renowned CryptoPunks compilation off shelves. Their decentralized nature and blockchain preservation ensure their continued existence as historical artifacts that informed the development of the digital art collections housed at the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
In order to provide context, CryptoPunks is a compilation of 10,000 unique NFT characters that was introduced in 2017. When it comes to blockchain-based digital art solutions, this initiative is at the forefront of innovation.
