Sun announced his departure from his position as Grenada’s ambassador to the World Trade Organization, which he joined in 2021.
The 31st of March marked the conclusion of Justin Sun’s tenure as Grenada’s Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Sun’s diplomatic status is terminated shortly after the SEC accused Tron’s leader of fraud and market manipulation.
In several tweets, Justin Sun announced his resignation as Grenada’s representative to the WTO, effective March 31, 2023.
Sun stated that he acquired valuable experience during his tenure as ambassador, adding that his interactions with representatives from around the globe allowed him to gain insights and perspectives on various trade issues.
Tron’s founder stated that he is preparing to give over power to his successor, concentrating on crypto regulation and the digital economy. His diplomatic status has already expired.
“I will devote the upcoming months to ensuring a seamless transition of my responsibilities to my successor. After that, I intend to take some time to relax before resuming my career as a public servant, with a concentration on digital economy and crypto regulation, as I believe that these areas are essential to the future of international trade and economic growth.”
While Sun is only now announcing the end of his time as Grenada’s representative to the WTO, the Grenada Broadcasting Network reported that his position terminated after the New National Party was ousted in June 2022 general elections. In December 2021, the Tron chief was appointed to the position.
The latest development follows the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) filing of a lawsuit against Sun, alleging him of unregistered sales of TRX and BTT tokens, which the regulator deemed to be securities and market manipulation.
